Along with some smaller ponds dispersed near Rogaška Slatina, Šmarje pri Jelšah, Vonarje, Podčetrtek and Trebče, the RD Sotla manages some kilometres of the river Sotla, rich in whitefish (common nases, Danube roaches,common breams), pikes, carps..... The other river is the river Bistrica, a magical salmonid district, that flows into the Sotla in Bistrica ob Sotli.
