The Sora River is formed by the merger of Selška and Poljanska Sora in Škofja Loka. It belongs to the group of salmonid waters because it is relatively pure and rapidly flowing. The river bed is intertwined with deep pools, rapids and overpasses. In the past, people did not encroach much on it, because of the distance from the settlements and the extremely torrential character.
