The river Mirna in this part runs mostly through the planes of the fields of Šentrupert and Mokronog and has all the characteristics of the valley river. Plenty of meanders and backwaters can be still seen. It is rich in all the cyprinids ( Danube roach, common nase, barbel) as well as in salmonids (brown and rainbow trouts, huchen). Even pikes are not rare. Acces to the district is good because the regional road Trebnje - Sevnica runs along it and also some local roads in the vicinity of Mokronog.
