The creek Hinja springs in two canals below the hills near Šentjanž na Dolenjskem. The canals join into one near the village Koludrje, the current runs through Krmelj and then flows into the Mirna near the village Tržišče.The Hinja's waters are salmonid and are home to mostly brown trouts but some chubs can lose their way in it, coming from the Mirna. It is rich in water with numerous pools. Apart from the area near Krmelj where its waters are regulated, the Hinja kept its natural image. The area through Krmelj - from the concrete road bridge upstream to the end of regulation, approximately 400 m - is a reservation where fishing is forbidden. The waters are easily accessible due to local road Tržišče - Krmelj - Šentjanž that runs along them.
