The river Ribnica springs in two carst springs in the vicinity of the little village Zadolje under the Velika gora mountain. It winds across moist, grass plane , forming great arches. Because this area is mainly carst, the water goes under the ground through little abysses east from Dolenja vas. When waters are high, the Ribnica increases its stream and flows forward along the fossil channel, across the field of Dolenja vas until it reaches Zadnja Rinža. There are many water pipes in the field. The waters then flow into the Rinža and the Krka. Those waters provide home for pikes, trouts, tenches, chubs, percoidei, roaches and even for some carps.
