The RD Ptuj is voluntary, independent, non-profitable association of natural persons that came together to catch, protect and breed fish as well as to manage the fishing environment of Ptuj, to protect its waters and organize some recreative activities.The business of the RD is defined by Slovene constitution and law. We are working together with other fishing families and we are under the wing of Slovene Fishing Association - the highest form of connecting fishing families in Slovenia. The main function of the RD Ptuj is to organize some recreative fishing in fishing environments that it manages and that includes keeping the nature healthy aand clean. As putting in the new fish into our waters is one of our main obligations we tend to breed the warm water fish as well (carps, tenches, pikes...) and work together with neighbouring fish farms. Our competitive activities enable us to make friends with fishing lovers all over Slovenia as well as abroad. Along the road Ptuj-Radgona there are two ponds in the settlement Rogoznica. We built the fishing lodge Dom ribičev RD Ptuj near the smaller one and it contains our offices, some rooms for lodging of our friends as well as some quarters where we can hang out together. As it is well known that people from Styria always want to have good time we also decorated a cozy cafe and had it leased. In the vicinity there are some playgrounds of the sport association ŠD Rogoznica, 2 bowling grounds and some swings for children. We wanted our fishermen to have it all nearby so we even put  a fishing equipment store in the neighbourhood. By letting all Slovene fishermen getting acquainted with richness of our fishing districts we want to contribute to the developement of tourism in Ptuj's area. We began to organize fishing for big fish and fishing competitions on state level where fishermen from entire Slovenia participate. The management of the RD Ptuj wishes you good catch!
