The district Dreta, which is managed by RD Mozirje starts at the Dreta's spring under the Črnivec and ends at the confluence with the Savinja in the village Nazarje. The district is 22 km long. The average depth of the Dreta is between 0,5 and 1,0 m except in pools and below dams. The bottom is marl or covered with gravel limestone. The current of water changes in this district; the rapid parts are followed by still waters. The river is 10 to 20 m wide. The average flowrate is 4m3/s, the average temperature is 5C. From the spring to the village Kropa is the Dreta very narrow and fast. After Kropa it widens until it reaches the Savinja and makes numerous pools with rapids that interlace with still waters. The district has excellent conditions for fly fishing, but the fishermen must be experienced because the banks are covered with river vegetation. You can find all the salmonid species here ( brown trout, grayling, rainbow trout and huchen) as well as some cyprinids ( barbel, chub).
