The river Rižana is a very characteristic river because it flows in slovenian territory from the spring to the outflow into the sea. Its spring is under the Kraško.-Slavniška plateau near the famous village Hrastovlje- it is well known due to medieval murals. The Rižana is 14 km long.You can find the indigenous brown trout of mediterranean phenotype here, as well as some marble trouts or hybrids. The river Rižana is officially divided into two districts but the single ticket is valid for the entire river.
