The river Reka is slovenian largest subterranean river. Its spring is on the south hill of the Snežnik mountain in Croatia. On its 47 km long road it passes Zabiče, Ilirska Bistrica, Prem, Ribnica, across the Vremska dolina valley to Škocjan and there it goes under into the Škocjanske jame caves. The river Reka is an ideal destination for everyone who wants to enjoy unique fishing in the unspoiled karst nature, while fly fishing for beautiful marble or brown trouts or their hybrids. In the Reka's basin besides trouts we can also find italian barbel, chub, carp, zander and pike. To all the lovers of recreational fishing, you have a part of the Reka in the Vremska dolina ,2 km long ( from the Fevžnar's dam to the Cerkovnik's mill) to enjoy. It is a fly fishing district, where we fish only by principle Catch and Release. The Reka is especially glorius and rich in all the species of trouts in this part.
